Up until now

I was born and raised in Wanganui New Zealand and moved to Australia in 1977 at the age of 19 after completing my nursing training.

My journey towards singing and writing songs is not your typical story. I never grew up with a dream to do so. In fact it was never on my radar.

I wanted to be a nurse when I grew up and that is exactly what I did. I knew this when I was about 9 years old. I got into other things when I was much older, which was gym instruction, running a healing and weight loss centre, remedial and relaxation massage, spiritual healing and tarot readings.
I was always interested in alternative medicine and things beyond the physical.

I did not start singing, playing or writing music until I was 43, which came as a big surprise for me, as I did not have a lifestyle up until then that even hinted at such a shift in path. This came about when I shifted from where I was living and was no longer able to keep doing what I was doing there.

It was my now husband who encouraged me to sing and write music after he heard me sing. I was quite resistant to this as it threw me off side. It still doesn't seem quite real even after 10 years. I think this is because I never grew up doing it so it hasn't shaped me the same way as others who have done so.

We set up our own record label and recorded and released an album in 2004.
